The CO2 laser is a true surgical laser which cuts as quickly as a scalpel, but without bleeding or pain.
Laser surgery is an extremely effective surgical laser which provides patients with much greater comfort than electrocautery or scalpel and allows for virtually cell by cell removal of tissue. This minimally invasive technique allows for minimal surgery, minimal recovery and no bleeding.
Typical recovery time for a tongue biopsy or lingual frenectomy using a scalpel can between 7-14 days and will typically require prescription pain medications. Patients that have surgery performed by this laser will recover in 1-2 days and not require prescription pain medications
