First Visit

Your initial appointment will consist of a consultation explaining your diagnosis and treatment options. Often, for patient convenience, surgery can be performed the same day as the consultation. However, a significant medical history or complex treatment plan will require an initial evaluation and a second appointment for treatment.

Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:

Your surgical referral slip and any X-rays if applicable
A list of medications you are presently taking
If you have medical or dental insurance, bring the necessary paperwork or policy cards.

IMPORTANT: All patients under the age of 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the consultation visit.

Please have nothing to eat or drink 6 hours prior to your surgery (unless otherwise instructed). You will also need to have an adult driver present in the office throughout the surgical appointment.

Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to surgery (i.e. diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves, artificial joints, heart murmurs) or are on any medications that could alter your ability to heal or clot (i.e. Coumadin, Prednisone.)

X-Rays

If your dentist or physician has taken x-rays you may bring them with you. Often, additional Panorex x-rays are necessary as they are the standard of care in an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons office. Panorex x-rays also aid in diagnosis, treatment planning, and informed consent discussions.
